Created by Bandai and intended for preschool-aged children, these bug-ninja hybrid toys feature cool designs, and interesting accessories.

From what I can find online, these toys were first released in Japan in September 2017. Unfortunately it seems that this franchise has been discontinued, as the most recent toys were released in 2019 with no signs of new products on the horizon.

Considering these toys were marketed towards kids aged 4 - 6, the designs of the characters and accessories for Mushinin are really cool, and don't immediately read as being intended for very young children. But at the same time, they appear to be very robust and ready to withstand a lot of play, which is great for preschool children.

When the toys were first released, they came with these cute little cases designed to look like wooden logs. The toys have magnets on the bottom which is what makes them stick to the top of the case, and it's also used as a way for the figures to interact with various accessories. It's a simple, but very clever design!

There were many accessories released for Mushinin figures, and they all have some kind of interactive element. For example, Kamikirinin's alarm clock shown above has a spinning sushi belt. I especially love the Mushinin bus, the way it moves a little bit like a real caterpillar is so cool!

The most exciting toys that came out of the Mushinin franchise, in my opinion, are definitely the mechs. There are four of them and they all have interactive transformation sequences, which work by using the figures' magnets. Really cool! Check out some pictures below:

You can visit the official Mushinin website (where I got all of these images from and some data) here. Thanks for reading my first post about insect and arthropod merchandise! I plan to write more about other toys, figures, models, and even accessories, any physical items that are inspired by bugs basically. So come back again and read more another time!
